Red Lights

The first day I saw you was magical. Forever engraved in my memory. My black beauty glowing red when you were awake.

I knew what I wanted and never imagined I would get you. But I did. You became mine that day.

I was so proud and showed you off to my friends to tell them of my good fortune.

We were perfect together and you lit up when I touched you. My hands tapped out patterns on your body as I fixed my eyes on your face. When my fingers pushed into you, your response gave me a rush – I felt on top of the world.

Then one day I travelled to serve a country that never loved me. And I returned but you had changed.

You didn’t light up anymore and my patterns on your body didn’t make you glow like before. I was sad. I still am.

But after corona, I will take you to computer village so they will tell me what is wrong with my keyboard light because my laptop has not been the same ever since I returned from camp.
